Belagavi: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President D. K. Shivakumar said that the Congress will hold a protest in Hubballi on January 2 over the implementation of the Mahadayi project.
Speaking to reporters at Suvarna Soudha here, he said that the Central Government has now approved the detailed report of the Kalasa Banduri Project on the ground that the Congress party gets its name due to irrigation struggles. Let them do whatever they want. We will put our idea in front of the people,” he said.
Replying to a question on the ruling party’s statement that it would release documents against Siddaramaiah in the House, he said, “We have requested to give two hours for discussion on the issue of rampant corruption, vote theft and hold the session till 8.00 pm. But as soon as the matter was raised, he submitted his report and ran away. The issue was not allowed to be discussed. We will take this idea before the people. We will uphold the voice of the people,” he said.
