Belagavi: In a bid to prevent private universities from conducting examinations on their own and exerting pressure and influence on Government colleges, the Legislative Assembly’s Subordinate Legislative Committee has recommended to the State Government to prepare question papers from the Government itself and hand it over to private universities.
In the 52nd report of the Committee, which was tabled in the Assembly, it was found that the private universities were preparing the question papers on their own and conducting the exams. This has helped their students to score higher marks. As a result, the pressure on Government colleges is increasing and there is a need to control it. Therefore, the Government should prepare the question paper for the private universities. So that the universities are under the control of the Government, the report stated.
Similarly, the Committee has also directed private universities to adopt the mandatory 371 (K) reservation rule for considering reservation in subject-wise and category-wise appointments in Universities.
