Widespread panic gripped Belagavi on Tuesday night following reports of stone pelting between two groups at Ganachari Galli, allegedly resulting in two injuries. However, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Rohan Jagadeesh dismissed the rumors, confirming that no such incident occurred.
Clarifying the situation, Jagadeesh stated that tensions arose over a dispute regarding land earmarked for constructing a community hall. During an official land survey, an argument broke out between two groups, leading to one individual sustaining an injury.
Authorities have assured that the situation remains peaceful. The Khade Bazaar police will be registering a case, and security personnel have been stationed near the disputed land to prevent further disturbances.
