BELAGAVI: Following the exhumation of Santosh Dundappa Padmannavar’s body based on a complaint from his daughter, police have arrested two men from Kodagu and are questioning his wife, Uma Padmannavar. The arrests came after CCTV footage from October 9, the day of Santosh’s death, showed two unidentified men leaving his residence in Anjaneya Nagar.
The arrested individuals, identified as Pavan and Shobesh Gowda, are believed to have been in contact with Uma through social media. According to Santosh’s daughter, the investigation was prompted by the discovery of deleted CCTV footage from their home.
Santosh’s elder brother, Raju Padmannavar, expressed his suspicions regarding Uma’s involvement, revealing that she had befriended a young man on Instagram about five to six months ago. Raju alleges that the suspects may have played a role in Santosh’s murder, stating, “They administered electric shocks, gave him some injection in the arm, and suffocated him to death. The pillows were found dumped outside the bedroom.” He is demanding strict action against those involved in the crime.
