Belagavi: Ticket denied, retired IAS officer to contest as independent

Belagavi: Retired IAS Officer Shambhu Kallolkar, who was aspiring for a Congress ticket, was denied the ticket and after thatheld a meeting with around 25,000 supporters in Raibagh Town and decided to contest as an independent candidate from Raibagh Reserved constituency.

Candidate Shambhu Kallolakar said, “Money power, people’s strength and oppressors will become MLAs. But self-respecting people should not give in to this and should support the common man for the survival of Democracy,” he said.

“Some people have only denied giving ticket to me but no one can avoid the love and affection of the people who are voting. There is a conspiracy by some people to prevent the development of the Raibagh Constituency. The constituency should have developed a lot by now,” he said and expressed displeasure that it has not beenpossible.
