Kanvika Ganesh Gudyagola (22), a resident of Ganeshpur, attempted suicide by consuming poison on Tuesday. Following the attempt, she has filed a complaint against her husband and his family for alleged dowry harassment. In response to this, Kanvika’s husband Ganesh’s father and brother-in-law have filed a counter-complaint at the local police station.
According to sources close to the family, it has been revealed that Kanvika had been struggling with addiction issues and did not adapt well to domestic life after marrying her classmate Ganesh. It is reported that their marriage was initially refused due to these concerns but was later arranged under pressure from a local BJP leader named Prithwisingh.
The FIR against Kanvika’s husband and his family alleges that they harassed her over dowry issues after she continued with her addiction post-marriage and also befriended another person. The police are currently investigating both complaints filed in this distressing case involving allegations of dowry-related mistreatment.
