Dharwad: “Every soldier of our country is like our family member, we must honour him”, said District Principal and Sessions Judge V Shreeshanand.
Speaking after inaugurating the “Armed Forces Flag Day” programme organised by Sainik Welfare and Rehabilitation Board comprising Dharwad, Ballari, Gadag and Haveri districts here on Wednesday evening, the judge stressed on instilling confidence among the soldiers who defend and protect our motherland at all costs.
Soldiers have only one religion and caste, that is “Bharat”, he said while asking the people to support the cause of soldiers. “It is just because soldiers are guarding our boarders round the clock, we are living safely, the judge said.
DC S B Bommanahalli who is also the head of Sainik Board, said it was our primary duty to extend support to the soldiers in all possible ways.
Air Commander (Rtd) C S Havaldar said the nation had planned to purchase war equipment, machineries worth Rs 7 Lakh Crore. “It is our duty to protect our country in times of crisis. Even the retired armed forces personnel must be ready to defend our country as and when the need arises”, he added.
District judge released armed forces flag stickers on the occasion.
