Dharwad: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Working President S R Patil has said that the Congress party had fulfilled nearly 155 out of the 168 assurances given in the 2013 election manifesto and that it assures only what it can do.
Speaking at the inauguration of booth-level party workers convention in Hubballi, Patil said the Congress government had waived off Rs 8,156 Crore worth of crop loans of farmers in co-operative societies while the union government had not waived off R. 42,000 Crore loan taken from nationalised banks.
He said while Prime Minister Narendra Modi had assured to create 2 crore new jobs every year, due to his policies the Indian IT sector was slated to lose nearly six lakh jobs in the next two years.
He also said that winning in North Karnataka was important for Congress party to come back to power.
All-India Congress Committee Secretary and Belagavi division Congress In-charge Manickam Tagore asked booth-level party workers to put all their effort to ensure victory in their respective booths.
The party has chalked out programmes to create awareness among voters regarding the good work done by the Siddaramaiah government in the State.
District In-charge Minister Vinay Kulkarni, party leaders C S Shivallai and others were present.
