Dharwad: Alleging that the Centre had failed to fulfil the assurances given during elections and cater to the needs of the people, members of CPI (M) took out a rally in Dharwad and later staged a protest in front of the Vivekananda Circle in the market area.
The protesters alleged that the performance of this government even after three years was very poor.
Of all the sectors, the agriculture sector had received a severe setback with giving scientific price to the farm produce not realised so far. The condition of the farmers was becoming more deplorable due to agrarian crisis, they said.
They also spoke on unemployment, black money among other things.
The government is on a spree of implementing anti-people policies which are proving disastrous to every sector, they charged.
The major demand of the protesters was to waive off the farm loans taken from nationalised banks and ensure scientific price to their produce.
