Dharawad: Alcohol sale banned for two days in wake of election

Dharawad: Karnataka Assembly Elections will be held on May 10 and as a precautionary measure Deputy Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde, who is also the District Election Officer, said that the sale of liquor has been banned for two days.

Speaking at a press conference, he said that the sale and transportation of liquor has been banned throughout the District from 5.00 pm on May 8 to 6.00 am on May 11.

Counting of votes will be held on May 13 and sale and transportation of liquor is prohibited from 6.00 am on that day to 6.00 am on May 14, he said and added that all measures have been taken to conduct polling peacefully in the District.
