Dharawad: A case has been registered at the Hubballi Suburban Police Station against those who tried to defame Former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar by posting a video on social media.

The then leader of the Opposition Jagadish Shettar had opposed the Budget presented by Siddaramaiah when he was the Chief Minister. This was reported in the media. However, a video of Jagadish Shettar showing supposedly opposing the Budget speech of incumbent Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, which is in fact a doctored one has gone viral on social media. BJP workers have lodged a complaint against this at Hubballi Suburban Police Station.

“This is not a good Budget feature, it has made Karnataka number one in corruption. He has brought Karnataka to the number two position in the communal riots. We have to ask what is the model,” Jagadish Shettar said, expressing his displeasure over Siddaramaiah’s Budget. The miscreants created the video by including half of the video of his statement and half of the Budget presented by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

The video has gone viral on social media. BJP workers alleged that an attempt was made to defame Jagadish Shettar.

Corporator Santosh Chavan, who is also the BJP President of Hubballi-Dharawad Central Constituency, has lodged a complaint with the Hubballi Suburban Police.
