Dharawad: Minister R. Ashok said that the situation here should also change if the seers too have to enter politics. None of the seers have come in large numbers into politics except Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath and Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Uma Bharti. “It is their personal matter whether the seers come into politics or no. But there is no such atmosphere in the State. Even people will not accept this,” he said.
Speaking on the issue of seers entering politics in the City, he said that after entering politics, they will have to criticise political parties. “This will cause problems to them. Moreover, seers cannot be confined to any one caste. A seer means that all people should be loved and treated equally after wearing saffron clothes. Therefore, it is for this reason that people who are suitable for politics should come and not everyone can come,” he said.
“Whichever seer is interested in coming into politics, they can try to come into politics with the desire to stand in politics bravely like Yogi Adityanath and Uma Bharti. It depends on political parties. No seer has contacted us in that regard. It’s up to them to come or leave since it is their personal matter,” he asserted.
“A lot of people have already spoken for and against the seer’s entry into politics,” he said adding, “I’m neither for nor against this matter.”
