Dharawad: A woman, who makes a living by driving a goods vehicle, has been felicitated by the Deshpande Foundation BCI.
Neelamma Sivashingeri, originally from Mantur Village, has been driving a goods vehicle for the past two years, choosing a driver’s job to cope with the family’s financial situation. She was felicitated with respect at Shiraguppi Village on the occasion of World Women’s Day in March.
Speaking on the occasion, Neelamma recalled the encouragement given by her husband to drive.
Speaking on the occasion, Gurunath Biradar, Cluster Manager, Deshpande Foundation BCI, said that a woman is not just confined to the kitchen, she can represent the Country.
