Dharwad: A special court in Bengaluru has rejected Former Minister Vinay Kulkarni’s plea seeking permission to enter district.
Vinay Kulkarni, who is contesting the 2023 Assembly elections as a Congress candidate from Dharwad Rural constituency, had applied for permission to enter district.
Vinay had approached the people’s court seeking entry into the district. The CBI, however, had argued that the ban should not be lifted under any circumstances. Of the 120 Witnesses, 90 are from Dharwad.
Giving permission to enter into the district may be misused, this may become a problem to case at the next stage. The CBI had argued that there was a possibility of threatening witnesses. The court dismissed vinay Kulkarni’s plea after accepting the CBI’s arguments.
Vinay Kulkarni has been given a ticket by the Congress from Dharwad Rural constituency. Hence, it was requested to relax the condition due to contesting elections. However, Justice Jayant Kumar, a judge of the special court for people’s representatives, disagreed.
