Gold medalists dedicate their success to parents

Dharwad: There were golden moments for some of the students at Karnataka University on Saturday, who won gold medals in their respective disciplines.
The golden boys and girls expressed their views, aspirations and dedicated their success to their parents and family members.

Pratiksha Polikar, who won eight gold medals in microbiology subject and has been working in Goa in a firm dedicated her success to her mother, who toiled to helped her to excel in her studies. Having studied in Kannada medium upto 8th standard, Pratiksha selected English medium thereafter and achieved success in higher studies.

Siddanagouda Patil, a student of journalism department who garnered seven gold medals dedicated his success to his parents and teachers. He wishes to serve the society in one or the other way.

Shankar Chikkodi of Athani taluk in Belagavi district, who got six gold medals in Kannada, attributed his success to his parents who work as agri labourers. He said poverty in house did not come in the way of his success. He wished to become a teacher in future.

Tippusultan Naikwadi of Haveri district who got six gold medals in Political Science subject wished to become an IAS officer.

Jyoti Eshwarannavar who won six gold medals in Library Science subject hopes to become KAS officer, Swapna Revadi of Gadag who won seven gold medals in Biology subject aims to become forest officer and indulge in conservation of wildlife and ecology.
