Dharwad: The district unit of Social Unity Center of India © has sternly opposed government’s decision to collect toll fee on 19 State Highways across the state.
The decision to collect toll on State Highways including Dharwad-Savadatti stretch has been an anti-people decision. It was duty of the government to lay good roads and provide them for public use along with other basic facilities, now this decision to collect toll fee, is very much condemnable, SUCI district secretary Ramanjanappa Aladalli said.
In a press release issue here Aldalli said common people are facing so much problems in leading their daily life amidst problems of price rise, unemployment among others. The toll fee hike would be an additional burden on the lives of these people which must be opposed enmasse he said.
Governments should stop providing rebates and subsidies to capitalists and recover the dues from them. Government must withdraw decision of toll collection of State Highways henceforth he said or have to face the wratch of people, he said.
