Hubballi: The State Government has introduced a special package for tourists to Hampi that highlights the heritage site’s wild side.
According to sources, tourists will get the opportunity to explore the Tungabhadra otter sanctuary, undertake forest trekking near Vijaya Vittala Temple, go for bird watching for the rare yellow-throated bulbul, and much more.
The site attracts a huge number of migratory and rare species birds as well. Though the chances of seeing otters along the Tungabhadra River are small. However, the forest department has identified a few spots where otters are frequently seen. The tour will also include visits to heritage monuments as well as to the sites of wildlife.
Three government agencies, the Forestry, Tourism, and Ecotourism Development Board, have collaborated to create a detailed tour plan.
The tour will begin at Hampi’s Virupaksha Temple, and bookings can be made through the Eco Tourism Department’s website.
