Hubballi: The Members of Hubballi unit of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike held a protest at Sangoli Rayanna Circle in Hubballi, against the Centre for its “anti-Karnataka” stand in Kalasa-Banduri issue.

Addressing the gathering, Vedike’s Hubballi unit President Amruth Ijari said the affidavit filed by the union government in the Supreme Court stating that it had received no proposal from Karnataka for environmental clearance of the Kalasa-Banduri project and that it had also not accorded any permission to Karnataka for the project so far, shows the anti-Karnataka stand of Modi’s government.

He said, “Now we have got proof that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is against Karnataka. For the last 770 days, the farmers and people of this region have been staging a protest for the implementation of the project and yet the prime minister has not intervened.”

He demanded that the 17 BJP MPs from the state exert pressure on Modi to execute the project.

Vedike members Shivanna Bubballi, Gopal Patil, Vinod K, Sagar Gaikwad, Ashok and others were present on the occasion.
