Hubballi: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which is probing college student Neha Hiremath’s murder case, has been granted six days of custody by the court, according to local sources.
Advocate Ashok Anvekar, in a message to Hubballi reporters, has stated that the first additional civil judge and JMFC have handed him over to CID. The sleuths may conduct further inquiries in this case, said the advocate.
Neha was brutally killed by her former classmate Fayaz Khondunaik within the premises of BVB College on the evening of April 18. Her murder has incited widespread anger across the state. Two days ago, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah ordered a CID inquiry into this case and also assured Neha’s parents that a special court would be established for the timely trial of the case.
