Hubballi: Police security has been provided to Neha Hiremath’s family, with two constables deployed to guard Neha’s father, Niranjan Hiremath, and her mother.
According to sources, Niranjan Hiremath requested security cover when Siddaramaiah visited their home two days ago, claiming that his family is at risk from certain elements. The CM honored Niranjan’s request, and on Saturday, a constable and a woman constable were assigned to guard Neha’s parents.
Neha Hiremath, a first-year MCA student, was brutally stabbed to death by her former classmate Fayaz Khondunaik on the BVB College premises. The heinous murder sparked widespread anger across the state, with opposition parties questioning the state of law and order in Karnataka.
Both the BJP and Congress engaged in verbal exchanges over the murder, prompting senior political leaders from both the parties visiting Neha’s house in the Bidnal area of the city. The BJP used the murder to criticize the Congress, which has been continuously raising questions about minority appeasement and the deteriorating law and order situation.
