Dharwad: District in-charge Minister Vinay Kulkarni has asked teachers to contribute their might in imparting quality education to the students coming from humble background.
Speaking after felicitating meritorious students of government high schools in the district who had scored high marks in SSLC examinations, during the Prathiba Puraskar function held at the JSS Utsav Hall in Vidyagiri the minister said there was a tough competition in the education sector and to stand tall in this, the government teachers should adopt easy teaching methods so that the rural students fare well in exams.
He said with the help of private tutorials and teachers, Dharwad district has done well in the State ranking. If more efforts are made this academic year, Dharwad can come within top three ranks, he added.
To compete with private institutions the government has been enhancing educational facilities in government schools. Smart Boards, online classes, and the like are being provided, he said.
MLC Basavaraj Horatti, Nijagunanand Swamiji, Shivaleela Vinay Kulkarni, Suresh Kulkarni, DDPI N H Nagoor, BEOs, and others were present.
