Dharwad: The moveable properties of Water Board was confiscated here on Monday, as per the orders of court over not paying compensation to a man who had parted away with his land for construction of jackwell at Amminbhavi.

Malleshappa Hossur had given around 18 acres of land to government for construction of a jackwell at Amminbhavi in 2009. However, Hossur had approached the second additional civil court asking for higher compensation in 2016.

After listening to arguments from both the sides, the court had asked the government to pay Rs 25,000 per gunta in a stipulated time. However, as the government failed to pay the Rs 4.51 Crore, the court ordered the confiscation of moveable property of Water Board.

As per the orders, one SUV, 11 chairs, one fax machine, computer and other properties were seized in presence of advocates.
