Belagavi: The Feast of St Anthony was celebrated on Thursday evening at St Anthony’s Church, located opposite the Fish Market in Camp, Belagavi. The mass was led by Archbishop of Bengaluru, Rev Peter Machado, and attended by numerous priests, nuns, and devotees. During the mass, Archbishop Machado emphasized the importance of embodying selfless love and sacrifice to truly follow the teachings of St Anthony and Jesus Christ.
Candlelight Procession Lights Up Belagavi
On Wednesday evening, a large candlelight procession featuring the statue of St Anthony traversed the main streets of the Camp area, drawing a significant number of participants. The procession was a highlight of the celebrations, symbolizing the community’s devotion and reverence.
Community Participation and Arrangements
The feast mass, which extended into the late evening, saw active participation from Fr Simon Fernandes, Principal of St Paul’s School, along with Fr Philip Kutty, Fr Pramod Kumar, and other priests. Parish priest Fr Vijay Mendith, along with the Parish Council and local youth, made extensive arrangements to ensure the success of the event.
