Belagavi: Kittur assembly constituency Congress ticket aspirant, sitting MLA DB Inamdar has informed that he has taken the decisson to quit the Congress following the delay in announcement of ticket by the Congress high command for Kittur constituency.
He has informed that he has sent the resignation letter from primary membership of the Congress to KPCC President Dr G Parameshwar.
“I have been hurt and insulted by the party. I am yet to discuss the issue with my supporters and make a decision soon,” he said.
The Congress High command has announced a list of 218 candidates but, the announcement of a candidate in Kittur has been kept on hold. Babasaheb Patil, son-in-Law of DB Inamdar who had played a key role in the previous elections to bring victory to DB, is now lobbying for a ticket from the Congress. Thus, the party high command is in a dilemma over issuing a ticket as both of them are equally popular.
“I have been elected as MLA five times and served as minister twice. I put efforts to organise party over the last 30 years. I never asked for positions. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah himself had announced my candidature in the recently held ‘Sadhana Samavesh’ at Kittur. But I have been disappointed now,” he said.
