Belagavi: A Ganesh Utsav pandal was stoned by unidentified miscreants during an event in the communally sensitive Bhendi Bazaar area in the early hours of Saturday, September 22.
Apart from the pandal, the miscreants also stoned a few cars and fled before the police arrived at the scene.
The CCTV in the area has captured two persons in the act of vandalism.
Investigations into the incident have begun and the police are sure of nabbing the suspects soon. They have also deployed additional personnel to prevent any further incidents from occurring in the area.
Local MLA Anil Benke has condemned this incident and has asked the police to take stern action against the culprits.
