Athani: Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi has termed Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge and JD(S) supremo and former prime minister H D Deve Gowda as ‘old tigers’.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, December 4, he said, “Both HDD and Kharge are giants in the field of politics. Whatever they say carries some weight and every word of theirs is respected. They are like old tigers. You never know what will happen when two old tigers meet. Their collaboration is something to watch for. In my opinion, something is cooking between the two.”
Taunting former chief minister Siddaramaiah, DCM Savadi said, “Siddaramaiah keeps saying that the Congress party will come to power once again after the by-polls. I don’t say that dreams are not good. I too have a dream of becoming the prime minister one day, which is not possible. Hence, it is not right to aspire to become what you cannot be.”
Meanwhile, he opined that on December 9, the by-polls counting day, all the dreams of the Congress and JD(S) will be shattered.
