Belagavi: Criticising the recent remarks by Union Minister Ananth Kumar Hegde terming the temple visits by AICC President Rahul Gandhi as a birth of kota (fake) Hindutvavadis, Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy demanded to know if BJP leaders had taken exclusive contract of “Hinduism.”
Speaking to reporters at Sambra Airport here, Reddy said that the party (BJP) should focus on its work rather than playing politics in the name of Hinduism and caste.
“Sowing enmity between people in the name of religion is not a good practice. Why are BJP leaders upset about Rahul Gandhi’s visit to temples during his state tour? Has he done anything wrong by visiting temples? BJP does not have copyright over Hinduism and playing politics in the name of religion is unacceptable in the state”, said Reddy.
Further, he added that government had approved funds for the construction of its own office for the Belagavi City Police Commissionerate. The work would commence soon, he added.
Police Commissioner D C Rajappa, DCP Seema Latkar and SP Sudheer Kumar Reddy were present.
