The much-anticipated inauguration of the Belagavi Super Specialty Hospital, situated within the BIMS premises, has faced delays owing to technical reasons. However, BIMS Director Ashok Kumar Shetty has assured that the hospital will be inaugurated shortly.

Built at a cost of ₹140 crore, the hospital in Belagavi city is nearing completion, with minor works underway. Director Ashok Kumar Shetty provided an update, indicating that the official handover will be facilitated once the necessary fire safety approval is obtained.

Upon inauguration, the hospital is poised to significantly benefit the local populace, offering specialized departments across its floors. The first floor will accommodate Neurology, Neuro Surgery, Plastic Surgery, and Endocrinology; the second floor will house Gastroenterology, Nephrology, and Surgical Gastroenterology; the third floor will feature VIP and General Wards, while the fourth floor will be dedicated to Operation Theaters.

Furthermore, notable enhancements have been made to the maternity ward, ensuring amenities like hot water facilities for both mothers and infants, and upholding stringent cleanliness standards. Director Shetty emphasized the importance of collaboration between hospital staff and patients’ relatives to ensure efficient operations.

The hospital’s primary objective is to deliver high-quality healthcare services to the residents of Belagavi district, with accessibility extended to neighboring states like Goa and Maharashtra, thereby augmenting the region’s healthcare infrastructure.
