Belagavi: Police confiscated arms used by BJP MLA Raju Kage and supporters during lethal assault on Congress party worker and businessman Vivek Shetty on January 21.
The BJP MLA along with family members and supporters had assaulted Shetty after accusing the latter of posting derogatory comments on social networking site Facebook on January 1. The assault clippings recorded in CCTV went viral on social networking sites.
After the footages started appearing on media, the MLA and those involved in the assault went absconding.
Police had registered a case and formed a team led by DySP Veerabhadriah to nab all the accused in the assault case. Police have nabbed 13 people in connection with the case including Raju Kage.
Police have intensified investigations and have seized knives, wooden rods, car and other items used in the assault after raiding the residences and go downs of Raju Kage, his brothers Siddagowda Kage and Prashanth Kumar Kage.
