Belagavi: Despite facing opposition, the Naddrohi Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES) continues to observe a ‘Black Day’ on Rajyotsava day every year.
Likewise, this year, the MES is gearing up to commemorate Black Day in Belagavi on November 1. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has expressed his backing for the event, assuring that a representative from Maharashtra will attend the MES’s Black Day observance on November 1.
During a pre-Rajyotsava meeting held a few days ago, Belagavi’s Deputy Commissioner, Nitesh Patil, issued a warning to MES activists, advising them against observing Black Day. Patil emphasized that no authorization had been granted for the Black Day event and conveyed a stern message that stringent measures would be taken if the rules were disregarded. He further stated that Maharashtra leaders would be denied entry into Belagavi.
