Property dispute leads man to drive tractor over own brother
A man has been arrested in Belagavi district after allegedly running a tractor over his younger brother, causing his instant death. The tragic incident occurred on Saturday in Yaragatti Taluk, within the jurisdiction of Murgod police station.
The victim, Gopal (27), was killed when his brother, Maruti Bavihal (30), drove the tractor directly over him. Police have revealed that the deadly incident was the result of a long-standing property dispute between the two siblings. The altercation over land or assets appears to have escalated into an irreversible act of violence.
Maruti was taken into custody by the police shortly after the incident, and authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crime. This tragic event underscores the potential dangers of unresolved family disputes, particularly when they involve significant financial or property disagreements.
Local authorities have expressed concern about the increasing number of such violent incidents triggered by property and inheritance conflicts, urging families to seek peaceful resolutions.
