Star Air has announced the discontinuation of its flights from Belagavi to Surat and Belagavi to Kishangarh (Ajmer) via Surat, effective from June 14.
The airline has ceased accepting bookings for these routes, which commenced under the UDAN scheme in December 2020 and have been operational for nearly four years.
Despite the routes’ popularity and high occupancy rates, exceeding 90%, Star Air has not provided an official reason for their termination. However, sources indicate that the decision is driven by aircraft rotation needs.
The halt of these routes, which were the primary air services connecting Surat and Ajmer, is anticipated to disrupt travel for numerous passengers who relied on these convenient connections.
