Belagavi: The BJP’s Parivarthan Rally got off to a delayed start here at Sangankeri near Gokak on November 18 evening as several farmers led by Rajya Raitha Sangha leader Honnappa Pujari waved black flags at Party State President B S Yeddyurappa and other party leaders over the Centre’s failure to waive off their loans.

Yeddyurappa, who had to face a similar situation earlier near Saudatti on November 17 was confronted by the farmers shouting slogans and demanding to know why he was not pursuing the matter of waiver of loans given by nationalised banks with the prime minister apart from his failure to resolve the state’s dispute on the Kalsa-Banduri project with Goa.

Later, while addressing a gathering at Ramdurga, Yeddyurappa blamed the ruling Congress government for its failure in getting the Mahadayi project implemented though Rs 100 Crore had been released for it during BJP tenure. Further, he assured of implementing the project within a month of BJP coming to power in the state in 2018 and to also hold talks with CMs on the Kalsa-Banduri project.

Promising the people that his party would link rivers to provide them irrigation, Yeddyurappa said his government would implement most of the pending projects.
