Vijayapura: Expressing solidarity with the farmers protesting in Delhi against new farm laws, several farmers unions held a three-hour road blockade at Sindgi bypass of the city on Saturday. The nation farmers union had called from nation-wide ‘Chakka Jam’ to protest against the three farm laws framed by the BJP government at the center.

The farmers have been protesting in Delhi for over two months while they have been calling for support from various quarters.
The farmers union, supported by communist organizations held protests at Sindgi bypass to mark the protest and oppose the farm laws.
The farmers have been accusing the BJP government of framing anti-farmer laws and pro-corporate laws to help some top corporate houses of the country.
Alleging that the new farm laws will adversely affect the farming sector of the country, they have been demanding the government to roll back the laws.
Claiming that the laws will extensively help some corporate people such as Ambani and Adani, they are saying that since both big corporate house owners give huge party funds to the BJP, the party has been preparing laws as quid pro quo.
The protesters have been holding various types of agitation in Delhi and other parts of the country, such as the tractor rally where the farmers brought hundreds of tractors in the rally.
The farmers have also been getting support from various national and international celebrities also.
While the farmers are accusing the BJP of working in the hands of corporate houses, the BJP leaders and several right-wing leaders are calling the farmers anti-nationals.
The farmers are not only against the BJP for the slanderous remarks and accusing the party of trying to suppress the agitation, they are also upset with a section of media houses that have been working on the behest of the BJP government.
Amid this, the protest held in Bijapur city for nearly three hours in the presence of police deployment. Several farmers’ leaders addressed the protestors by holding placards demanding the government to withdraw the laws.
