Vijayapura: Accusing the BJP government of trying to hide the statistics related to deaths of people due to Covid in Karnataka, AICC general secretary, N. S. Bosaraj has demanded the government to conduct Covid death and make the report public.

Addressing presspersons at the District Congress Party office, he accused both the BJP government of the State and Centre of completely failing to control Covid pandemic, whose burden had to be now borne by the common people.

He alleged that with regard to Covid vaccination also, the Modi government has failed. “ It was only after the Apex Court slammed the government on vaccination and Congress demanded extensively, the Modi government announced free vaccines to every citizen of the country”, he said.

Criticizing the Modi government for putting blame on the previous UPA government for rise in the petrol prices, Bosaraj said that by saying so, Modi is only misleading and hoodwinking people.

“ Because of the sharp rise in the prices of petrol, diesel and LPG, the common people of India are gravely suffering. The prices have been sky rocking while the earnings of the people have touched the bottom. The government must reduce excise duty to help the common people”, he said.

Stating that the Modi government is busy in image building, he said that when people of India needed vaccines, the Modi government, only to build its image internationally, distributed the vaccines for free to several nations.

“ The Modi government has been playing with the lives of people because of the wrong vaccination policy of the Modi government”, he said.

Referring to the prolonged agitation of farmers, he said that even after over six months of farmers holding agitation against the farm laws, the BJP government has become inhuman and adamant that it is not heeding to the demand of the farmers.

In his address, MLA, Shivanand Patil said that the both Centre and State Governments have shut their eyes and ears to the problems of people during Covid pandemic.

“ There is gross confusion in the State about the number of Health Ministers the government has since various Ministers say different things about Covid”, he said.

Former MLA C. S. Nadagouda said that he never saw such the most irresponsible government ever in his prolonged political career.

“ Modi’s only objective is to make Ambanis and Adani most rich in the world”, he said.

Calling BJP government as dictator, he said that even criticizing the government has become an anti national act in the BJP rule.

DCC president, Raju Algur, Congress leader, Abdul Hamid Mushrif, Rajashekhar Menasinakai, S. M. Patil Ganihar, Mahommed Rafique Tapal, Sunil Ukkali, Zamir Bakshi, Arati Shahapur, Mallanagouda Biradar, Vasant Honmode, Shabbir Jagirdar, Channabasappa Nandaragi, Hajilal Dalawai and others were present.
