Vijayapura: Accusing the BJP Government of conspiring to deprive poor and backward students from getting education, KPCC spokesperson S. M. Patil Ganihar has said that the entire Sangha Parivar and RSS is behind it.

Expressing anguish over the Principal of the Udupi Government Pre-University College for preventing the Muslim girls from attending classes as they were wearing Hijab, Ganihar wondered who directed the principal to do that job. “Which forces were working behind him that he abruptly decided to prevent girls from attending class. Did he read the norms related to uniform, and if not, then how and why he ordered the Muslim girls not to enter classes wearing Hijab. Why did the government not act against the principal for his illegal act,” he questioned.

He said that because of one wrong decision taken by the principal, today lakhs of students are suffering and the state is boiling. He also held the Government responsible for not taking appropriate action against the principal. Now, the controversy has reached the High Court of Karnataka, he noted.

Ganihar alleged that the BJP wants the issue to be escalated and they are distributing saffron stoll to boys to create communal tension. The BJP is now sowing seeds of hatred even among the students who actually have to focus only on their studies and building careers, he said.

Expressing concern over the present situation where the colleges are being closed and police are being asked to participate in flag march, Ganihar said that the BJP has created a situation where the students have to study under police protection. “We never had such a situation earlier where the students have to study under police protection,” he said. He demanded the Government to bring the situation under control and create a situation where students study without any fear and without any police protection.

Replying to the statement of Minister K. S. Eshwarappa that one day saffron will become the national flag and also of him defending hoisting of saffron flag on mast of one of the government colleges in Shivamogga, Ganihar demanded the arrest of the Minister.

The Minister has given completely anti-constitutional and anti-national statements, and thus the action should be taken against him, asserted.

Akram Mashalkar and Vasanth Honmode were present.
