Vijayapura: Congress MLA Shivananda Patil Tikota in Vijayapura has urged the state government to merge a few departments to bring down government expenditure.
Speaking to reporters in Vijayapura, he alleged that these departments are divided for the selfish gains of a few in the past.
“Sugar department was separated from cooperative department for the gains of a few. It is the same with the health and medical education departments,” he said.
He urged the state government to implement the Ramaswamy report scientifically to bring down the expenses.
It can be recalled that state government formed a committee under the chairmanship of revenue minister R Ashok in this regard.
