Vijaypura: BJP legislator and ‘Hindu firebrand’ Basangouda Patil Yatnal has made a controversial statement by saying that veteran freedom fighter and activist H S Doreswamy is a “Pakistani agent”.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, February 25, he said, “Anti-nationals who shout pro-Pakistan slogans shall not be sent behind bars, rather they will be shot dead. I believe that ‘old man’ H S Doreswamy is a Pakistani agent as he supports statements of anti-nationals who had raised pro-Pakistan slogans in Bengaluru, recently.”
“In the freedom struggle of Indian independence, many freedom fighters have fought bravely and it is not only Doreswamy who fought for the Indian freedom struggle. I think this person is a ‘fake’ freedom fighter because he always stands by the anti-nationals,” he added.
Threatening those who shout pro-Pakistan slogans, Yatnal said, “Next time, such people will not be tolerated as they will be directly sent to heaven and nowhere else”.
It can be recalled that a youth from Talikote town had recently uploaded a Facebook post that read “I Love You Pak Army”. This post had gone viral on social media. Yatnal also slammed such comments and reacted by saying that such people should be shot and killed.
