Four Killed in Head-On Collision Between Car and Truck in Vijayapura

Vijayapura: Four people were killed on the spot in the district on Saturday when their car collided head-on with a cement-laden truck near Arjunagi village in Babaleshwar taluk.

The deceased have been identified as Arjun Kushalsingh Rajput, 32, Pushpa Ravinath Pattar, 40, Megharaj Arjunsingh Rajput, 12, and Ravinath Pattar, 52, all residents of Vijayapura. They were on their way to a temple in Jamakhandi from Vijayapura.

The cement-laden truck was traveling to Vijayapura from Jamakhandi. Superintendent of Police Rishikesh Sonawane and other police officials rushed to the scene.

The bodies have been shifted to the government hospital and will be handed over to the relatives after the postmortem. Babaleshwar police have registered a case, and the investigation is going on.
