Vijayapura: The District Police have successfully cracked a complicated murder case with its brilliant sense of investigation.

The police have arrested the culprits in the murder case, which was made to look like a road accident. However, detailed investigation found that it was premeditated murder.

Narrating the incident, Superintendent of Police, H. D. Anand Kumar said that on August 27, body of a man Anil Mahadev Biradar (32) was found on Ittangihal Road of the Taluk along with his motorcycle. The wife of the deceased had informed Rural Police that her husband had died in the road accident.

“Though initially, it looked like a road accident, when the police noticed keenly, they found injury marks on the body of the deceased were not akin to the road accident.

The police suspected that the man might have been murdered but the assailants have tried to make it look like a road accident. This made the police intensify the investigation.

Anand Kumar said following this, a team of police officials headed by Sangamesh Palbhavi, Police Inspector of Rural Police Station was constituted to investigate the case.

“During the investigation, it was found that the deceased had property dispute and personal enmity with native of the same village, Dhandaragi. The residents, Appu Biradar and Anil Awati who had long standing enmity with the deceased, wanted to eliminate him. They hired contract killers by paying Rs. 2.5 lakh to killers Banneppa Biradar, Suresh Awati, Birappa Gugawad, Kirankumar Aski and Raju Asangi.

These people together committed crime by killing the deceased and later throwing his body on the roadside with his motorcycle to make it look like a road accident. “We have arrested the culprits and seized weapon used for murder, two motorcycles, mobile phone and Rs. 35800 cash.
