VIJAYAPURA: Evoking Muslim and Dalit issues only to criticize Congress, the Water Resources Minister, Govind Karjol has blamed the Congress of not giving adequate political representation to Muslims and Dalits.

Terming the Congress as the lone party in the country that has betrayed both communities, he claimed that because of which, the communities have been supporting the BJP, which has made the party to form a majority of the States and twice at the centre.

Addressing, presspersons in Sindgi town during the campaign for his party candidate Ramesh Bhusnur in the ongoing by-polls, he listed out names of Muslims and Dalits who he thinks have been sidelines in the party.

Karjol said that the party has ill-treated veteran Congress leader, Ghulam Nabi Azad by depriving him Rajya Sabha post only because he talked against the party high command.

“ Despite Azad being senior to Congress President Sonia Gandhi, he was not made Rajya Sabha member. This inked Muslim community across the country”, he said.

Claiming that Former MLA, late Iqbal Ahmed Saradagi and Roshan Sharif, the grandson late, Jaffer Sharif was defeated by the Congress leaders by contesting as rebel candidates, he wondered how the Congress would answer these questions to Muslims.

Stating that similar is the fate of the Dalits in the Congress, Karjol said that in the assembly polls, the Congress conspired to defeat Former Minister, G. Parameshwar in the assembly polls. This is to make sure that he does not rise to become Chief Minister.

“ The Congress did not want Dalit to become CM, therefore, Parameshwar was defeated by the very Congress leaders”, he said.

Accusing the Congress of not identifying educated and learned people of Dalit community, he alleged that the Congress did not give Bharatratna to B. R. Ambedkar.

“ It was Former Prime Minister, V.P. Singh who gave Bharatratna to Ambedkar posthumously”, Karjol said.

In his address, Minister, Housing Minister, V. Somanna said that no development took place in Sindgi taluk during the coalition government.

He said that after the election, the BJP government will focus only on the development of the constituency. “ In the next over a year of our government, we will make sure that development in all sectors of the constituency is done”, he said.

MLC, Lakshman Savadi, District President, R. C. Patil Kuchabal, candidate Ramesh Bhusnur, leader Dayasagar Patil and others were present.
