Vijayapura: Former Minister and Congress MLA of Basavanabagewadi Taluk, Shivanand Patil has again openly expressed his desire to contest from Babaleshwar Assembly Constituency if the party offers him ticket.

Babaleshwar Assembly Constituency is already represented by Former Minister and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Campaign Committee President, M. B. Patil.

“Babaleshwar is my old Constituency from where I contested in the past. I had to leave it for some unavoidable circumstances which I regret even today,” he said.

He admitted that he has applied to contest from Basavanabagewadi, Bijapur and Babaleshwar.

“Ultimately, the Congress High Command will decide from where I should contest. I will welcome its decision,” he said.

At the same time, he also declared to work for the victory of M. B. Patil if he chose to contest from Basavanabagewadi.

“I will not only welcome him wholeheartedly but will also campaign for his victory,” he added.
