Vijayapura: A man has allegedly tried to smuggle ganja into the district’s central prison by hiding it inside a chicken dish, informed to Vijayapura police, who have arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Prajwal Laxman Mabarukhane.
Prajwal was stopped by the jail staff while delivering meals to a prisoner out of suspicion. When they checked, he saw that the chicken leg piece had a thread on it. Further investigation revealed that Prajwal had concealed the 2 gms ganja package inside the piece of chicken leg and had stitched it from the outside.
A total of 18 ganja sachets have been seized.
