Viyajapura: In a strongly worded statement against controversial BJP MLA, Basanagouda Patil Yatnal for repeatedly issuing open statements against Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa, the BJP’s Karnataka In-charge, Arun Singh has declared that Yatnal has become irrelevant for the party.
In an interview to a private media channel, he said that even the common worker of the party has discredited Yatnal.
“Let me make it very clear that Yatnal has become irrelevant for the BJP and the workers have discredited him”, he said.
Accusing Yatnal of having a habit of talking against the party and its leaders for the last decade, he said that the credentials of Yatnal are such that he has always been talking against the party.
“Yatnal has been doing it only to remain in the media glare and nothing else. I think even the media should make him irrelevant and not attach any importance to any of his statements”, Singh said.
While Singh has issued this statement calling Yatnal irrelevant, another party leader and MLA, Renukacharya has warned of urging the party leaders to call for a legislative party meeting and resolve to sack Yatnal from the party.
A staunch supporter of Yediyurappa, Former Minister, Renukacharya has said that it is enough of Yatnal talking against BSY and his son, Vijayendra.
Challenging Yatnal to prove corruption charged against Yediyurappa with the documents, he said that it was BSY who worked hard to re-induct Yatnal into the party.
“No party leader including Jagdish Shettar and Prahalad Joshi was in favour of inducting Yatnal in the party again, but it was BSY who convinced the party high command to take him back in the party. You are giving this reward to him for his efforts today that you are talking ill against CM”, he asked.
Renukacharya challenged Yatnal to come to Honnali, his constituency and campaign against him. “If Yatnal has guts, let him come to my constituency and campaign against me, and I will show him my powers”, he retorted.
