Mangaluru: The Carmelite community and faithful across Mangaluru are mourning the passing of Rev. Fr Peter D’Sa OCD, who was called to eternal rest in the Lord on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
Rev. Fr Peter D’Sa dedicated decades of his life to priestly ministry, serving the Church with faith, humility and commitment. His passing has left a deep void among fellow clergy, religious communities and the faithful who knew him for his pastoral care and spiritual guidance.
A life devoted to faith and service
Born on February 11, 1951, Rev. Fr Peter D’Sa made his religious profession on June 29, 1970, and was ordained a priest on March 16, 1978. Throughout his vocation, he remained committed to the Carmelite charism, dedicating his life to prayer, ministry and service to God’s people.
His death marks the end of a long and faithful journey of service to the Church.
Funeral on July 27
The funeral rites for Rev. Fr Peter D’Sa will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, at the Infant Jesus Shrine, Carmel Hill, Bikarnakatte, Mangaluru.
According to the funeral schedule:
- Viewing: 2.00 pm
- Office for the Dead: 2.30 pm
- Funeral Mass: 3.00 pm
Family members, clergy, religious and faithful are expected to gather to pay their final respects and pray for the repose of his soul.
