Bengaluru: An article claiming that a BMTC bus conductor had cleared the IAS exams, that was published in an English daily, has been proven to be false.
The article, which had created a sensation on social media, had received a mammoth response from the netizens, lauding the dedication and determination of the bus conductor Madhu N C.
However, Editor Ravi Joshi took to Twitter to make some clarifications about the article. He wrote, “I would like to apologize to all our readers. It was such a great story of grit and determination that even the BMTC MD and all his seniors decided to help him crack the interview. Alas, it was too good to be true.”

Reports also suggested that the Managing Director of the BMTC, C Shikha had prepared Madhu for the interview round of the UPSC exams.
In another tweet, he said, “We’ve come to know that the BMTC bus conductor who claimed to have cracked the IAS Mains exam was lying. We have reason to believe that the roll number he showed us didn’t belong to him. @bangaloremirror is taking down the story till it becomes clear why he lied to BMTC and us.”
