Bengaluru: As the state BJP has decided to organize “Kanakpura Chalo” movement condemning Congress leader D K Shivakumar’s decision of erecting statue of Jesus Christ on the Kapaala Betta, which was kept aside as a pasture for cattle, the latter has urged his party workers and party leaders to remain calm.
Reacting to the decision of the BJP leaders, DKShi on Sunday said, “This is nothing but a strategy by the BJP to tarnish the image of Kanakpura. My only request to the people, Congress party workers and supporters in my constituency is not to get upset over the BJP protest. I want my supporters to remain calm and not disrupt peace. Some of the communal forces are trying to spread false information against the Jesus Christ statue project. Don’t lend your ears to it and get instigated.”
Meanwhile, the BJP has decided to begin the march towards Kanakpura from January 13.
