Bengaluru: Nowadays, some people have started poking their nose in other people’s lives, going so far as to tell them how to live, what to do, what to eat and even what to wear. Some take it to a whole new level by stopping others in their tracks and publicly shaming them doing something “wrong”.

A similar situation was reported from “Silicon City”, where a man stopped a girl, who was returning home with her friend on a bike, to take her class on how to be “sanskari.”

The incident is reported to have occurred on Thursday night at HSR Layout.

According to reports, a man who was passing by, stopped the girl and allegedly harassed her for her clothes. He is said to have commented on her dressing sense and instructed to wear proper Indian wear, as she was in a T-shirt and shorts.

Speaking to The News Minute, the harassed woman said that she could hear someone yelling at her, prompting her to stop and asking him problem was.

She said that he began yelling at her because she was in short clothes and that that was not the way for an Indian woman to be dressed.

Her boyfriend, who was with her, recorded the incident and informed the “yelling” man that he knew the Indian Constitution which stated that everyone had freedom to wear what they want.

The woman said that, when he realized that he was being recorded, lowered his voice and repeatedly asked her to change her clothes.

This incident and the video have now spread like wildfire on social media platforms.

A Facebook user said that the man who was schooling the young woman, must be aware of what he is wearing first.

The commenter added that the person scolding the woman had himself worn a shirt and pant, which is not Indian attire, and should have worn a dhoti instead.

While some have dragged Prime Minister Narendra Modi in their comments, asking if he had plans of implementing a dress code in the country, some others have commented stating that girls have become soft targets for such harassment.
