Bengaluru’s streets are set for a major makeover. The Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML) will roll out an intensive 10-day cleanliness campaign from April 21 to 30, focusing on restoring hygiene and aesthetics across the city.
The mission? Clean up roads, medians, footpaths, and public spaces—especially areas notorious for illegal waste dumping. BSWML has already mapped out these blackspots and aims to clear them all during the drive.
This large-scale effort will not be a solo act. The initiative brings together NGOs, residents’ welfare associations, apartment owners, and volunteer groups, uniting the city’s civic-minded communities to restore public spaces.
But that’s not all. Authorities are cracking down on single-use plastic, planning surprise raids on shops and industries still using banned products. Also in the crosshairs: construction and demolition debris, which will be removed from vacant plots where it’s been carelessly dumped.
The campaign promises more than just a surface cleanup—it’s a push toward responsible urban living, enforcement, and citizen involvement.
