Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister Govind Karjol, who is also the social welfare and PWD minister stated that the state government has a target of opening 100 government PU colleges.
According to Karjol, in all these colleges, hostel facilities will also be provided to the needy students. “The state government also sought Rs.500 crores from the union government for this project. We received an assurance that the amount will be released in a week,” he said.
He also hit out at his detractors over the ongoing preparations for the Kalaburugi Kannada Sahithya Parishat. “There is no need to stay at Kalaburugi. I already visited the place 4-5 times and have been reviewing the preparations,” he said.
He also stated that CM BS Yediyurappa and party national leaders will take a decision on the cabinet expansion.
